Useful Makeup Tips For A Healthy Skin

Did you know that makeup has been around for more than 3, 000 years? The pharaohs of ancient Egypt applied make up on their faces as a sign of power. The noble classes of the middle ages made their skin whiter using different make up techniques. Not to mention that ever since theater was invented, actors and make up became inseparable.

I have always believed that make up needs some sort of skills that I don’t have. While looking for the best makeup tips to improve my shallow technique, I was really surprised to find out that, despite the general belief, make up is not just a decorative solution. We don’t use make up just to be more beautiful and attractive. We use it to keep our skin healthy.

Makeup Tips: The Basic Rules

I can’t tell you how many pages I’ve read about make up tips. I will try to share with you what I believe the basic makeup tips are. I truly hope that they would be able to help you as much as they’ve helped me:

Makeup Tip: Natural Ingredients

Beauty products need to contain natural ingredients. Natural ingredients are extracted from natural products which have not been altered chemically in any way. Did you know that unless you report a violation, anything that is labeled natural remains is considered as such?

Organic Makeup

Organic makeup is made out of ingredients which are extracted from organic agricultural products. That means that they were processed without any chemical interference but also under strict regulations. Organic makeup needs to be certified by USDA Organic. Do not confuse organic with natural. I used to do that all the time!

Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup is powder-like makeup made of earth based ingredients. Mineral makeup is a great alternative to organic makeup. Apart from its decorative capacities, the ingredients of mineral makeup reduce inflammation and soothe the skin. What about that?!

Are You Wearing a Mask?

Less is more. This is really a very wise statement. I remember once when my son asked me if I was going to a masquerade. He thought I had forgotten to put my costume on!

Forget Makeup But Never Sunscreen

Ultra violets are stalking you all the time even if you think that a glass will protect you. Therefore never forget sunscreen. You may be excused if you forget make up but never sunscreen.

Lips Or Eyes? Make Up Your Mind!

Interesting Rule! The truth is that make up is really an art. The human face has a certain natural balance meaning that the focus is on one feature and not on all of them. Translation: play up your eyes or your lips but never both!

Sleepy? Remove Your Makeup!

No matter how sleepy or tired you feel drag yourself to the mirror and remove your makeup. There are not enough tips about the damaging effects of leaving your makeup on. I can testify to that!

Skin Issues? Go To The Dermatologist!

Makeup is not a treatment. So whatever skin issues you have don’t use makeup to disguise them. Simply go the doctor’s that knows best. Acne, blemish, it really doesn’t matter. Just go to the dermatologist!

Specific Beauty Products

All in one is only true about shampoo not makeup. Organic makeup and all other types of makeup have produced specific products for each part of your face: lips, eye, cheeks etc.

Expired? Throw It Away!

I remember when I used to be into the habit of buying all the possible beauty products. Some I had to throw way before I actually got to use them. Anyway, throw away all products that are out of date. Expired products can harm your skin.

Storage Is Holly

Humidity in particular is extremely damaging to all beauty products. Mineral makeup would be completely ruined if kept in humid environments. In fact, any type of makeup should be kept in dry places, at room temperature to avoid leakage or any other form of damage.

Clean Tools, Healthy Skin

This is one of the most useful tips. Anything that is in direct contact with your skin should be perfectly clean. Whether it is the eyebrow brush or the pencil sharpener, keep your makeup tools clean.

I hope you will find these makeup tips here useful.
